Welcome to our D.A.O.N. rebranded newsletter, standing for Daon Announcements, Opinions & News. This D.A.O.N fall edition is filled with news from a busy quarter, insights from across the company, and resources to help you get the most from your digital identity investments.
In this issue, you’ll learn about the inspiration behind our new website, the continued growth of VeriFLY, and why Opus Research named Daon one of its “Vendors That Matter.”
You’ll also find new resources to help keep fraudulent callers out of your contact center and move customers seamlessly from onboarding to authentication. And you’ll hear from CEO Greg Krasnov on how Tonik, the Philippines’ first digital-only bank, creates secure experiences that resonate culturally with its customers.
We couldn't be more excited to share with you our new online home for all things Daon, digital identity, and biometrics. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to visit the site, check out our new resources, and let us know how we can make the experience even better.
After all, you—our customers—are the reason we rebuilt the website from the ground up, focusing on all the ways to make your browsing experience cleaner, easier, and more informative. We know there are lots of places to go for insights and information on digital identity assurance, and we want ours to be the very best.
In particular, I’d like to draw your attention to our new content around COVID safety. You may have heard by now that nearly 3 million people have used our VeriFLY solution to authenticate their vaccination confirmations, negative lab test results, and other health credentials. But what you might not know is that VeriFLY is being used for so much more than air travel and cruise ships. In fact, we’re now the world’s first widely adopted digital wallet for managing COVID vaccinations and lab testing in offices, event venues, hotels, rideshares and P2P rentals, theaters, indoor sports arenas, restaurants, and college campuses.
In the days ahead, we anticipate even more new adopters and use cases, particularly as government mandates for federal contractors and large businesses take effect. You can explore all our use cases here, on our new hub for COVID safety information, with links to many additional resources. And be sure to check out this new video from Aer Lingus on their use of VeriFLY.
In the past eighteen months, fraud schemes have been on an unprecedented rise. In fact, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners called the coronavirus pandemic “a perfect storm for fraud.”
Even before the pandemic, the contact center was a favorite target for fraudsters and a weak link in the security chain. This is largely because the default method of contact center security—knowledge-based authentication, or KBA, which uses something the customer knows to verify their identity—is not actually very effective. In fact, Gartner has estimated that KBA accepts up to 60% of criminals while rejecting up to 30% of legitimate customers.
So how do you make contact center authentication more secure while simultaneously enhancing the customer experience? Read this article to learn how voice biometrics is solving that very challenge, or click here for more ways to combat caller fraud schemes without making your customers feel like criminals.
